A man has been arrested for allegedly butchering an innocent woman to death in Delta.
It was a tragic day for residents of Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, after a prominent business woman was allegedly butchered by a man named Sunny in broad daylight.
The
sad incident, according to reports, happened on Saturday, March 26,
after the assailant reportedly laid ambush for the victim along the
Agbor-Sakponba Road when she was driving to a burial ceremony, dragged
her out of the vehicle and used a sharp machete to slaughter the woman.
A
source in the community said the attacker was later caught by an angry
mob which was hell bent on killing him before he was rescued by the
police and whisked away.
The source said:
“The
murder was so callous. The suspect used cutlass to cut her ear,
stomach, buttocks, back, laps and spread her legs on the road, exposing
her private part. We have never seen a thing like this before.
When
the mob gathered and saw the lifeless woman in the pool of her blood,
they attacked the assailant who was still holding his blood stained
cutlass. They even broke his head before the police came and took him
away.”
It was further that the assailant who
was dressed in a complete black outfit, had emerged from the bush
suddenly, forcing the woman to apply the brakes.
The
suspect then smashed her car's windscreen and, forced the door of the
vehicle open and dragged the woman out, brought a cutlass and started
cutting her body parts, till she gave up the ghost.
