Liverpool FC are ahead of the queue to sign Monaco star, Thomas Lemar, in the summer, according to journalist Duncan Castles.
Castles claims Lemar has already agreed on moving to Anfield with the responsibility on Liverpool to pay the full price of roughly £89million Monaco are asking for the France international.
“Top of Liverpool’s list, we know they want Thomas Lemar,” Castles told The Transfer Window Podcast.
“We know that Thomas Lemar has agreed to come to the club if they could meet Monaco’s asking price for a transfer fee that they haven’t been prepared to do because Monaco want over €100m.”
Meanwhile, speaking at the start of the month, Monaco’s manager, Leonardo Jardim insisted Lemar would be staying put until the summer.
“Monaco are not in the habit of making big sales in the winter. It’s our strategy,” Jardim told reporters.
“The players understand and they know how it goes here.”
Lemar is expected to leave Monaco in the summer.
