Members of the Taliban terrorist group have been nabbed afer they hid explosive material in a baby’s clothing in a bid to carry out a terror attack.
Kabul Times reports that the four-month-old was packed out with a bomb ahead of a planned strike on Kunduz in Afghanistan.
However the fighters were caught after being stopped by police as they attempted to enter the city. Four men and one woman were then arrested.
The explosives had been carefully placed around the little girl’s body, the Kabul Times reports.
Speaking after the arrest, Sowita Abulrahizai the deputy chief of the Independent Human Rights Commission of Afghanistan described the plan as ‘brutal and vicious’.
He said: ‘Using children in armed conflicts is the most brutal and vicious act in the society, because such acts are categorically banned by the Islamic shari’a and enforced laws of the country.’
